RI Science Leadership Advisory Board
The RIDE Science Leadership Advisory Board (formerly known as RISEC) is composed of Rhode Island educators representing pre-kindergarten through grade twelve and higher education. Team members serve in an advisory capacity to RIDE, lending their expertise to improve the quality of science education for every student in Rhode Island.
Among the upcoming projects that the advisory board will provide input on are:
- Comprehensive Assessment System guidance.
- HQCM implementation guidance.
- High Quality Curriculum-Based Professional Learning.
- Current events in science education and implications.
Members of the advisory board contribute by:
- Providing input on ways RIDE can better support science teachers and policy.
- Serving as a vital channel of communication between RIDE, PreK-12 educators, institutes of higher education, and state professional organizations.
Board member responsibilities include:
- Working intensively with a team of education professionals.
- Committing to attend advisory board meetings (approximately 4 per year from 4:30 - 6:30 pm at locations around the state).
- Committing to up to 10 hours of subcommittee work per year.
- Offering current and direct experience to help inform the work of the advisory team.
