Educator Recognition

We, at RIDE, believe it is our role to elevate excellence in education across the state. As the profession continues to grow in complexity and demand, RIDE encourages, cultivates, and rewards professional excellence within and beyond the classroom, and into school communities, through the educator recognition program.

RIDE coordinates the selection and recognition of several award programs of which the Educator Recognition is comprised: the Rhode Island State Teacher of the Year, the Rhode Island Principal of the Year, Milken Family Foundation Educator Awards, the Presidential Awards in Mathematics and Science, as well as the Golden Apple™ Awards. The links below contain more information about these awards and profiles of current and past winners:

2022-2023 Educator Leader Talent Pool Nominations

RIDE maintains a file of distinguished teachers and principals. Throughout the year, these educators may be considered for leadership opportunities such as membership on advisory boards and task forces, as well as state and national recognition programs.

RIDE is requesting that each district recommend up to 3 nominees who demonstrate strong leadership skills, instructional practices and have positive impact on students, colleagues, and the community.

To recommend an educator please complete the LEA Recommendation Form by Friday, March 24.
