RIDE Budget

RIDE submits two annual budget requests to the Governor and the State Budget Office: the operating budget and the capital budget. Both requests are voted on by the Council on Elementary & Secondary Education before transmittal to the Governor.

The Operating Budget is broken out into 8 programs, as they appear in the annual Appropriations Act. The department’s budget includes primarily state funds (general revenue) and federal funds.

The Capital Budget consists of projects for Davies, the School for the Deaf, the Met, the remaining state-owned locally operated career and technical centers, and statewide IT initiatives.
