BRIDGE-RI Professional Learning

Bridge-RI now has two free, research-based professional learning courses that may be useful for your schools and districts.

Facing Your Fears in Schools (FYF-S) is an evidence-based anxiety intervention grounded for students ages 8-14 in cognitive behavioral therapy and exposure. It was specifically designed for delivery in school settings, and this training was developed in collaboration with the original researchers to ensure high-quality, practical guidance for school mental health providers.

The training itself is free and available on demand, offering step-by-step support for implementing the intervention with fidelity. Participants will need to purchase the manual and student workbook separately (available from Brookes Publishing), but there is no cost to access the training.

Three Schools Recognized for Excellence in School Counseling

Congratulations to Ponaganset High School, Smithfield High School, and Vincent J. Gallagher Middle School (Smithfield) for being recognized as 2026 RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) Schools. They are part of this year's cohort of 208 schools nationwide to receive this distinction from the American School Counselor Association. The RAMP Award is given to schools that implement a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program. These Rhode Island schools are leading the way toward the ambitious statewide goal of supporting up to 30 schools in achieving the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation by 2030.

To support this effort, RIDE is offering $10,000 planning grants to help schools strengthen counselor capacity to design, implement, and sustain comprehensive school counseling programs aligned with the Rhode Island PreK–12 Comprehensive School Counseling Framework. These grants build on the strong momentum already underway across the state.

Interested schools should review the application packet and submit an application by April 3, 2026.
