With April 4 Deadline Approaching, RIDE Encourages Students, Educators, and Families to Complete SurveyWorks

Published on Wednesday, April 09, 2025

PROVIDENCE, RI – Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green and the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) today encouraged students, families, and educators to complete SurveyWorks ahead of the April 4 deadline. SurveyWorks, Rhode Island’s statewide education survey, has garnered over 120,000 responses and allows stakeholders to provide feedback on Rhode Island’s public education system.

In 2024, RIDE saw a total of over 130,000 responses, the highest received in a year. This included the highest response rate ever from educators and families. Over 80,000 students, over 12,000 educators and administrators, and nearly 36,000 families provided their feedback. This year, RIDE hopes to exceed these rates.

RIDE spotlighted three schools who are leading outreach efforts across the state. William D'Abate Elementary School in Providence, Raíces Dual Language Academy at Margaret I. Robertson School in Central Falls, and Agnes E. Little Elementary School in Pawtucket are the only three schools in the state that have reached 100% participation rates for students, families, and educators. The schools have used consistent, creative and expansive engagement strategies including direct outreach, prizes, and repeated reminders of the importance of the survey to encourage participation.

“Engaging and listening to the community members we serve is critical to our continuous improvement of Rhode Island schools,” said Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green. “I commend the schools that have been able to engage the majority of their community. Congratulations to Providence’s William D’Abate Elementary, Central Falls’ Raíces Dual Language Academy, and Pawtucket’s Agnes E. Little Elementary who have reached 100% completion rates. There is still time for students, families, and educators to let their voice be heard and help us improve the educational experience statewide.”

Each week, RIDE has been highlighting schools with the highest response rates on their social media. Students, families, and educators are encouraged to take the survey which takes just a few minutes to complete. District 2024 results can be viewed by visiting the SurveyWorks Resource Center on the RIDE website.
