Literacy Learning Laboratory
The Learning Lab is designed to assist and promote professional learning and training for educators, families, and caregivers by increasing understanding of evidence-based instruction, interventions, and accommodations for students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and related disorders. Developed by RIDE in accordance with the Rhode Island Right to Read Act, the Learning Lab serves as a comprehensive resource hub that connects educators, families, and caregivers with high-quality tools, training, and instructional supports.
In addition to providing foundational information on dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and related disorders, the Learning Lab features an Expert Speaker Series highlighting leading researchers and practitioners, Family and Tutor Toolkits that offer practical strategies and resources for supporting learners at home and in tutoring settings, Educator Toolkits designed to strengthen classroom instruction and intervention practices, and Teaching in Action, a collection of classroom videos, educator interviews, instructional resources, and student work samples that showcase evidence-based practices in real-world learning environments. Together, these resources help build capacity across schools, homes, and communities to ensure that all learners receive the support they need to achieve literacy and academic success.
