This year’s assessment results have spurred educators, families, and students across Rhode Island to take mathematics seriously and to ramp up mathematics instruction dramatically. Commissioner Gist commends everyone for taking this matter seriously. RIDE is confident that, with a year of good instruction and additional support, all students can improve their performance, develop some level of knowledge and skills in mathematics, and earn a diploma.
