Study the Standards - Race to the Top

Study the Common Core State Standards sessions are being scheduled statewide for all local education agencies (LEAs) who signed on to Race to the Top.  Many sessions have already taken place prior to the deadline of 4000 educators having participated by September 2012.

LEAs who have been classified as 'urban' are committed under Race to the Top to sending 85% of their core content area teachers to Study the Common Core State Standards.  Other LEAs send teams of four educators per building.

If you are an administrator of an LEA that committed to Race to the Top, but your LEA has not yet scheduled your session(s), there is still time to do so.  Please contact Kate Schulz (Kate.Schulz@ride.ri.gov) to set up your session.

Other Stand-alone Sessions

Stand-alone sessions will be offered to districts and schools who are interested in focusing on a particular protocol for their district or would like to purchase additional sessions of Study of the Standards beyond the Race to the Top funding.  These sessions will be facilitated by the Intermediary Service Providers (ISPs) who have been certified by the Dana Center as able to deliver quality sessions that are faithful to the Dana Center's style and content.  A district or school can choose to have a set of ISPs deliver one or many sessions for their district or school alone, or can work together with other districts or schools for a set of sessions.  ISPs do not have the authority to coordinate a sessions with you - instead, if you are interested in having them facilitate a session, please contact Kate Schulz for details.
