Assessment Resources for Schools
Introduction
Below are some assessment resources that we feel can assist schools in preparing students for the state assessments. Also listed are some guidelines for choosing test prep materials. All materials available on this website and the links to other websites have been approved by RIDE.
Guidelines for choosing test prep materials
If you are inclined to purchase materials from a test prep company, other please consider the criteria:
Is each item linked to specific Grade Level Expectation?
Is there a code designating the Depth of Knowledge level?
What steps were taken to ensure that the items were universally designed?
How were reading passages selected as being grade level appropriate?
How are the items scored? Is there a rubric?
Are samples of student work provided to support the answer keys?
If used formatively, what instructional next steps are recommended to correspond with misunderstandings students might present?
